Treasury bills (T-bills) is a short-term government security, sold through the Federal Reserve Bank by competitive bidding at weekly and monthly auctions, in denominations from $10, 000 to $1 million. T-bills are the most widely used of all government debt securities and are a primary instrument of Federal Reserve monetary policy. Treasury bills are backed by the full faith and credit of the U. S. Government.
