What is the meaning of Clearinghouse?

Clearing corporations, or' Clearinghouse's, provide operational support for brokerage firms and exchanges, and help ensure the integrity of securities trading in the US and other open markets. For example, when an order to buy or sell securities, futures, or options has been filled, the clearinghouse compares the details of the trade, delivers the product to the buyer, and ensures that payment is made to settle the transaction.
