Federal Home Loan Bank System (FHLB) is a U. S. Government-sponsored enterprise. Twelve district banks and a Federal Housing Finance Board created by the U. S. Government and owned by member financial institutions. The main purpose of the system is to provide loans to members for the accommodation of home lending.
